Colonel Dave Nelson (Auctioneer) grew up on a farm in west central Minnesota. Being the only boy in a family with five girls, he worked hard and was occasionally rewarded by being allowed to attend farm and household auctions. He calls it his “dad time.” After more than 34 years of teaching and 26 years of coaching, Dave retired in the fall of 2004 and in the spring of 2005 attended World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa. He has been conducting fundraising auctions since. He especially enjoys interacting with people and using his classroom skills as part of his auctioneering style. Dave and his wife (of over 36 years) Jan enjoy traveling and have a son and a daughter who are both teachers in Colorado. |
